ySense is one of the big names when it comes to survey and get paid to sites.
But is ySense legit and really a great and easy way to make some extra money online or a scam to steer clear of?
I am a long-term member of the platform myself and have tested it thoroughly and still use it daily.
So let me just reveal right away that ySense is legit and it does pay you – I have been paid many times myself and will show proof of payment later.
However, this does not necessarily mean that it is the right option for you.
This 2023 ySense review will give you all the details you need to decide if it is worth it for you or not.
My review is a bit long as the platform offers a lot of things and I want to cover as much as possible to give you all the information you need to make a decision on whether or not to join. But if you are the impatient type, you can just scroll down to the end 🙂
What is ySense and what does it do?
Let’s start with the name – the platform used to be called ClixSense.
ClixSense was launched in 2007. Initially it was launched as a PTC (paid to click) site and for many years it was mainly seen as a PTC site. Personally, I wasn’t a big fan of the PTC side of ClixSense, so I mainly focused on the other opportunities on the site.
In mid-2017, ClixSense made some big changes. This included getting rid of the PTC side, as this type of business has a bad reputation, and therefore ClixSense decided to move forward without this aspect.
Personally, I was very happy with this decision, as it wasn’t a great opportunity anyway, and I think it shows a lot about how serious ClixSense was about developing the platform and moving forward.
Then in August 2019, they made some more big changes – they rebranded with a new name and moved to a new domain (ysense.com). So the platform is now called ySense.
Most of the options are the same, but there have been some great updates, and ySense has continued to roll out new improvements since the rebrand.
Let me just say up front that if you are wondering whether ySense is real or fake, you need not worry. It is indeed a legitimate and real way to earn money, and it is safe – I have been paid by it many times myself (you can see proof of payment in the video later in this review).
But that does not mean it is necessarily the right option for you. So let’s take a look at what ySense offers now, so you can work out whether or not you should join:
Option 1 – ySense surveys:
The best way to earn on ySense is by taking paid surveys.
There are usually many daily opportunities to do paid surveys as they have partnered with many different survey providers.
ySense surveys are one of the best ways to earn money and there are many opportunities every day.
Be aware that you will probably not qualify for all the surveys that are available. I mention this because I know how frustrating it can be to click on available surveys and then not qualify.
Depending on where you are from, your age, etc., the number of surveys you can take will vary. This applies to all survey sites, so it is not just on ySense that you will not qualify for all surveys.
So if you click on surveys and they are not available, just be patient and keep clicking – it takes a short time to check if they are available and in most cases there will be many available and usually they are fairly well paid in relation to the time spent compared to other survey sites.
After a while you will also find out what kind of surveys you usually qualify for, and then you can just ignore the others so as not to waste your time – this is what I do.
As you can see in the picture above, the rewards you get vary a lot from survey to survey and can also vary from country to country. But overall, the surveys you can find on ySense pay quite well compared to many other survey sites.
Also note that in addition to the surveys you can see, there is also a section just below the surveys where you can see the survey routers that ySense works with.
This means that you can click here and search for additional available surveys – this can be a great way to find additional opportunities, although it can sometimes take a bit of patience to find the surveys you qualify for in this section.
And ySense regularly advertises new opportunities here, and often you can even find the highest paid surveys in this section, so be sure to check it out.
And one extra thing that ySense has recently added is the opportunity to take a daily survey. This is a short question that will only take you a second to answer and will earn you $0.01.
This is definitely something you should make sure you do every day – you can find the daily survey by scrolling to the bottom of the ySense survey page.
Option 2 – Paid offers:
ySense has a whole section of paid offers. This gives you access to a large number of different offers from ySense’s partners.
Many of the offer walls on ySense are the same as when it was ClixSense, but they have also removed some that were not so good and introduced new ones. They also mention on the website that they will continue to introduce new offers.
Offers can be to try new products or services, download apps, play games, register for websites, watch videos, enter free competitions and more. Compared to similar sites, ySense gives you access to many offer walls and also access to some of the best offer walls out there.

Before you accept an offer, you can see what the terms are and how much the reward will be. Promotions can be a great way to increase your earnings. Some of them give small rewards, but there are also some that give really big rewards, so it is worth checking the different offers regularly.
Just make sure you read all the terms and conditions of the offers you are interested in before you accept them, so you know exactly what you have to do to get your reward. Some offers have great conditions and are very easy to take, and others are not worth taking in my opinion. So make sure you know what the conditions are.
Option 3 – Invite friends to join:
You can also earn money by inviting other people to join ySense.
To start with, ySense will pay you a 20% commission on whatever the people you refer earn. If you have more than 100 referrals that have been active in the last 30 days, you will receive 25%, and if you have more than 200, you will receive a 30% commission.
The commission will NOT affect what the person you refer earns, as the bonus is paid by ySense to thank you for inviting someone else.
Option 4 – ySense Watch (watch videos)
The latest addition to the earning options is ySense Watch. This is a section where you can earn just by watching videos.
You can earn money by watching videos.
You simply select your preferred video topic/channel, and there are relevant topics for almost every preference.
You will then be taken to content within that category and have to stay and watch a video for a certain amount of time. There is a timer that tells you when you can move on to the next video.
You will have to watch a number of videos to get your reward and you can see at any time how many you have left to watch before you get paid. Usually this will be 7-10 videos.
Usually you will be paid $0.02-$0.03. So it is not a huge income, but it is still quite good compared to many other sites that offer video as an earning option. And the good thing about this option is that you can always find a way to earn, even if it is not much – but at least it is entertaining.
Just be aware that this option is currently only available in the US. ySense is working on making this option available in more countries as soon as possible, but if you cannot find ySense Watch when you sign in, it is simply because it is not yet available in your country.
Option 5 – Activity Bonus:
ySense offers a great way to earn extra money that sets it apart from many other survey sites.
If you have a certain activity every day, you will get an extra bonus called the Daily Checklist Bonus. I will go into more detail on this below as it is a big topic and needs its own section.
It is free to sign up and participate in all the offers that ySense has.
Option 6 – Get paid to play:
Getting paid to play games on your mobile is one of the newer ways to earn money on ySense.
However, it is only available through the ySense app (more on the app later).
However, if you enjoy playing games on your mobile, this can be a great way to earn money at the same time.
Once you have logged into the app, simply go to the ‘Discover’ section and select ‘Playtime Rewards’.
Here you will find different games that you can download and then you will get paid for every minute you play. Before you download an app, ySense will clearly show you how much you can earn per minute and how much you can earn in total from each game.
Overall, ySense’s game time reward option is actually one of the best I have seen of all the apps I have tested that offer game time rewards. So if you like to play games, this is definitely an option to check out.
What is the daily checklist bonus?
As mentioned above, ySense has something called the Daily Checklist Bonus, which can be a great way to earn some extra cash.
It may seem a bit confusing when you first join, but it is actually quite simple. But to make it easier for you, and so that you know right from the start, I will explain how it works and how much extra you can earn from it.
In a nutshell, it is a bonus where you can earn up to 16% of your earnings and it is added to your account at the end of each day if you qualify for the bonus that day.
You can easily see how close you are to getting the daily checklist bonus.
It is not that hard to qualify. On your personal account page you can see at any time how close you are to getting the bonus for that day (see image above).
To qualify for the bonus, you must complete either 2 surveys or 2 offers.
However, as not everyone has the same opportunity to complete surveys or offers, you can combine them to qualify for the Checklist Bonus.
So you can qualify for the bonus by taking 1 survey + 1 offer.
By completing any of the above, you will earn the daily checklist bonus and receive 12% into your account at the end of the day.
You also have the chance to add to this bonus. You can earn an extra 2% by installing the ySense add-on, which is an extension for your browser.
This used to only be available for Chrome when it was ClixSense, but is now available for Chrome, Firefox and Edge, which I think is a great addition.
It is an add-on that gives you notifications when there are new surveys, new tasks, etc. You need to have it active for 1 hour on a day when you also qualify for the checklist bonus, and then you get 2% extra.
The browser extension will not only help you get the bonus. It is also a great way to keep up to date with new opportunities on ySense without having to log in frequently.
Finally, you can earn an activity bonus of 2% by completing the checklist bonus for 3 days in a row. Note that if you fail to qualify for the checklist on any day, the activity bonus will be reset (see image below for an overview).

By achieving a certain level of activity on ySense, you have the chance to receive an extra 16% on your account. On each day that you meet the requirements for the bonus, it will be credited to your account at the end of the same day.
This is a really nice extra bonus and not something that many survey sites offer.
How do you get paid?
Every time you take a survey, accept an offer, play games or do anything else on ySense, you earn dollars.
The payout methods are one of the biggest changes after ySense was rebranded from ClixSense. Previously you could get paid by Payoneer, Skrill, Dwolla, Tangocard or by cheque.
One of the big changes when it was launched as ySense is that it started offering payouts via PayPal. This is the preferred payout method for many on survey and get paid to sites, so it is great that they have made this possible.
And the payout threshold for PayPal is quite low, as you only need to earn $10 to get paid via PayPal. And it will still take too long to get there on ySense.
However, ySense has also introduced payout methods with a lower threshold than it used to have as ClixSense. You can now get Amazon gift cards from as little as $5. And one of the latest gift card rewards they have introduced is Steam gift cards – although Steam cards are mainly available in European countries, whereas the other rewards are available in all countries.
You can also withdraw your earnings via Payoneer and Skrill, both of which are great ways to get your earnings in cash. So there are some really great reward options in my opinion.
Once you have completed a survey, you will usually be able to see the reward in your ySense account straight away. Some surveys (the ones with the extra high rewards) need to be approved before the money is credited to your account. These surveys are marked with a small red flag so you can easily recognise them.

If you take advantage of some of the other opportunities on ySense, such as getting paid for downloading an app, you will also earn dollars so it is easy to see exactly what you are getting for each offer.
When it was called ClixSense, you earned Clixcents for the offers. So this is another example of how ySense is now easier to use.
It often takes 5-15 minutes for these rewards to appear in your account.
Once you have requested a withdrawal from your ySense account, it usually takes 3-5 days for the money to be credited to the account of your choice.
Can I use ySense on my mobile?
Yes, you can easily use ySense on your mobile phone or tablet.
In fact, as mentioned above, it has its own app and you can download the ySense app from the App Store or Google Play.
You can download the ySense app for both iOS and Android.
This makes it much easier to access surveys quickly, which can be important as some fill up quickly. It also gives you access to the playtime reward option, which is not available on the website itself.
All in all, it is just super convenient when a survey or get-paid site has an app, as it is a great way to earn a little extra when you are on the go. For example, waiting in line, waiting for the bus, sitting on the train, etc.
It is great to see that ySense has taken the time to develop an app that works well and is easy to use.
If you do not want to download the app, you can still easily use ySense itself through the browser on your mobile phone, as the website is mobile friendly.
How much money can you earn?
How much time you need to spend to make money and how much you can earn with ySense depends on how many of the opportunities you want to take advantage of, as there are many.
In general, the rewards for surveys are pretty good for the time spent, so they are definitely worth taking part in. But there are many other opportunities as well.
Some of the offers are really high and the tasks can also bring in some nice extra cash – especially if you end up being one of the top earners and get a share of the weekly prize money.
If you are a bit active, you can also easily qualify for the daily checklist bonus and earn up to 16% extra, which is a really great bonus.
So ySense is one of those survey sites with good earning potential.
However, as with all survey sites, it is important to remember that it will not provide you with a full time income. If you expect it to be, you will probably be disappointed and not participate actively in ySense and therefore not be successful.
What countries is ySense available in?
One of the great things about ySense is that it is available more or less worldwide, just like ClixSense was. However, the opportunities on ySense will vary depending on the country you live in.
However, if you do not have many surveys or offers, you may have great access to tasks, so there are good opportunities for many countries, and it is one of the survey sites that gives fairly good opportunities for the widest range of countries of all the sites I have tested.
Note that you cannot take surveys from a country other than where you registered, so you cannot use ySense to take surveys while travelling.
You must be at least 16 years old to register with ySense.
How do you use ySense?
ySense has a lot to offer. It is still a site that is fairly easy to navigate and use, but it can be a bit confusing at first when you first log in.
Bonus advice and tips
Above you can see how to use ySense. I just wanted to add a few extra tips to help you get the most out of the platform:
Bonus Tip 1 – Find surveys when there are none available
Even if it looks like there are no surveys available, there may be.
When you click on ‘Surveys’ there are a number of boxes/logos that you can click on to access the survey router. Sometimes this will give you the opportunity to take a survey even though it is not shown.
You can find more surveys through the survey router.
Just click on them and have a look – I have often been able to take a survey like this. Depending on where you are in the world, there will be different boxes that you can choose from. Try it out and after a while you will know which ones are worth clicking.
Also, some of the offer walls have surveys you can take, so make sure you check them for extra survey opportunities.
Bonus tip 2 – Don’t give up if some of the surveys are not available to you:
Depending on your age, where you live, etc., there will be some surveys that you will not be able to take after you have clicked on an available survey. This can be frustrating, and sometimes you have to click through several surveys before you find one you can take.
However, there are many surveys available, so do not give up if you find one (or more) that you cannot take. Over time you will also get to know the types of surveys you usually qualify for, so just click on those and ignore the others.
Bonus tip 3 – Visit the site frequently:
New surveys and tasks appear and disappear throughout the day, so visit the site several times a day if you have the time.
Alternatively, you can install the ySense add-on for your browser. This is a great way to keep up to date with new opportunities without having to log in frequently.
Bonus tip 4 – Less activity at weekends:
Be aware that there is often less activity on ySense at weekends. In my experience, there are usually very few surveys on weekends, so do not get discouraged if you join on a weekend and do not find many opportunities.
There are opportunities on weekends, just not as many.
Can you get support?
How well supported a site or service is always says a lot about it.
I have contacted both ClixSense’s and ySense’s support on several occasions and have always received a fairly quick and useful response.
When you send a message to their support, you will see that they say it can take up to 10 working days to get a reply. This is quite slow, but fortunately it probably does not always take this long. When I have been in contact with them, I have usually received a reply faster, but in some cases it can take a bit of patience, which is something I hope they will improve on as they continue to improve the platform.
Also, if there are any updates, changes, special offers or anything like that, you will see a message when you log in.
ySense also has a forum where you can get answers to many questions from both other members and ySense staff. There are even forums in many different languages, so you can communicate with staff and other members in many languages other than English.
So ySense has good support and is good at keeping members up to date, which is something I really appreciate and something that some survey sites could definitely learn from.
Final verdict
I have tested many online paid survey sites and get paid to sites and ySense is definitely not a scam or a fake – in fact it offers real opportunities to make some extra cash in a legit way.
I know from personal experience that it is legit because I have been paid by it many times myself.

Overall, ySense is very user friendly and it seems that they are constantly developing the platform with new opportunities which is great for us as members and it is one of the sites that I have seen great results with myself.
It is definitely a legit site where you can make some extra money and in my experience it is definitely worth it and therefore one of my top recommendations when it comes to free and easy ways to make some extra money online.
