Swagbucks

You can find a lot of paid surveys on Swagbucks.

When you log in to the site, it may not be immediately clear where you can find the surveys. Unlike most sites that offer paid surveys, Swagbucks does not have a section called “Surveys”. Instead, the section where you will find the surveys is called “Answers”.

This is where you will find the daily survey. It is a short question that will only take a few seconds to answer and you will be paid for your participation.

As with most survey sites, you just have to be aware that you will not be able to qualify for every survey that is offered. This is just the way it is with survey sites, but it can be good to be reminded from time to time not to give up after trying a few surveys that we do not qualify for.

There will definitely be many that you qualify for, and after a while you will find out which ones you qualify for the most, and then you just focus on trying those.

And Swagbucks offers a very good number of paid surveys and it is a section of the site that is definitely worth checking out.

You can also see the reward you will receive for each survey and the estimated time (see image above) it will take to complete, which makes it easy to plan your time.

You should also be aware that from time to time you will find what are known as “Swag Ups” in the side menu. These are bonuses you can activate that will give you a percentage of the rewards for the surveys you take for a certain period of time.

These are great to keep an eye on as they can really boost your earnings.

Option 2 – Cash back when you shop:

Swagbucks has partnered with a long list of companies where you can earn Swagbucks rewards (called SB = Swag Bucks) when you shop online.

This applies to thousands of online stores and includes brands such as Gap, Nike, Amazon and Walmart, so if you ever shop online you are likely to find some familiar stores here. There is also cashback on services and various local activities, depending on where you live.

The cashback you get ranges from 1% to 50%. Fortunately, most companies give more than 1%, so you can get some great deals.

So if you like to do some of your shopping online anyway, using the Swagbucks shopping portal can be a great and quick way to earn rewards and get some great deals online.

Please note that the images below are just a few examples, and the offers are constantly being updated, so the exact deals shown in the image may not be available when you visit the site, but there will be plenty of others.

If you are interested in the Swagbucks cashback option, you should also read the part about the Swagbutton (Swagbucks Chrome extension) later in this review. This is very useful for keeping up to date with the savings you can make online.

All in all, if you ever shop online, it can be worth signing up to Swagbucks just for this option, as you can earn while spending money that you are going to spend anyway.

One of the newer options that Swagbucks has introduced in some countries is in-store cashback.

This means that if you link a card to your Swagbucks account, you will automatically earn cash back every time you shop at selected stores with that card.

There are not many sites that offer in-store cashback like this and I think it is definitely a great way to earn some extra cash without any hassle.

However, you need to be aware that in some countries you will find very few cashback offers, while in others there will be plenty of options. So whether this is a good opportunity for you or not really depends on your country.

Option 3 – Search the web:

The Swagbucks search engine is a section where you can search online. It is also available as an extension for Chrome browsers. If you use this, you will have a chance to win rewards every time you search.

You can earn by using the Swagbucks search engine.

If you win, you will see it instantly on the screen. You can win between 1-1000 SB and the winners are chosen randomly. There is no indication of the odds of winning, but Swagbucks makes it clear that they will not use any search information to sell your data or collect personal information.

So if you search the web anyway (as we all probably do), it might be worth a try.

Option 4 – Watch videos:

You can earn some rewards by watching videos on Swagbucks.

Let me say right off the bat that you will not make a lot of money doing this. There used to be a separate section for this, but it has been removed and many people think that you can no longer earn money by watching videos on Swagbucks.

You still can, but you have to go to the “Discover” section and find the videos on one of the offerwalls (Adscend Media is one of the offerwalls that has this option).

Overall, I would not recommend using this feature just for the money, but only if you find the videos interesting anyway, as the rewards are very low.

But if you find videos that you want to watch anyway, why not get paid for them?

Option 5 – Earn by playing Swagbucks games:

There are a couple of ways to earn rewards by playing games. One is to play one of Swagbucks’ own free games, and the other is to play a game on an external site.

Swagbucks has a number of games that you can play on their site and earn up to 10 SB by playing them. For example, there is a memory game or similar fun little games.

You can earn Swagbucks by playing free games.

The games on external sites are also games that you can usually play for free, or you can choose to play real money games. These are games like slots, poker, wheel of fortune, Angry Birds and more. However, you will only earn SB if you make in-game purchases while playing. So this is more of a cash back option.

But if you enjoy playing these games, it can be a great way to get some cash back for purchases you would have made anyway.

Option 6 – Deals/Offers:

Swagbucks has a lot of offers/deals that you can get access to. You can find them in a section called “Discover”.

These are offers that give you points for doing something. It can be signing up for a certain website or service, visiting a website, downloading an app, signing up for a free product sample, signing up for a newsletter, etc.

Compared to other GPT sites that have offers sections, I think Swagbucks has a really good selection.

Usually you will find what are called offer walls, which are offered on many different sites. You can definitely find some good deals there, but Swagbucks has even more options.

There are many offers that are more or less only available through Swagbucks. And if you keep an eye on them, you can find some amazing deals and make some easy money. Let me give you a few examples of the kind of deals you can find there.

The image above shows a service you can sign up for. If you sign up and deposit $5, you will get another $5 into the investment application you are signing up for. You will also receive 1000 SB as a bonus for signing up. This is equivalent to $10.

So by investing $5, you get $10 to invest in the app + $10 to your Swagbucks account.

Another great offer I found was this charity you can donate to.

Another great offer – get $25 when you donate $20 to a charity.

Here you get $25 credited to your Swagbucks account when you donate $20 to the charity. So basically you earn $5 by making a positive difference and donating to a charity. This is a great deal in my opinion.

Be aware that new offers come and go all the time. So the above are just a few examples that I have found.

The exact offers may be different for you, but as you can see, there are some really good opportunities and easy ways to make money using the offers.

Option 7 – Upload receipts / in-store offers

You can also find in-store deals and get access to coupons on Swagbucks, which is something I have not seen on many GPT sites.

This means that you can get coupons that you can use in-store at many different stores.

You can also find in-store offers on Swagbucks.

When you use these to purchase certain items, you will receive cash back into your Swagbucks account.

You can also earn cashback by purchasing certain items in physical stores and then uploading a receipt to Swagbucks.

Some of the rewards are quite high, and new items are being added all the time, and they are items you are likely to buy anyway, such as coffee, magazines, cereal, bread, mayonnaise and more.

So it can definitely be worth keeping an eye on this section, as it can be an easy way to save a lot of money when you are saving.

If you do not buy any of the items listed, you can still earn money by uploading any receipt from a supermarket or fast food purchase.

Please note that this is another earning option that is not available in all countries.

Option 7 – Invite friends:

You can invite your friends to join Swagbucks and earn a little extra. When you invite someone to join, you earn a 10% commission on everything they earn.

This 10% will not be taken from your friends’ rewards, but will be paid to you by Swagbucks as a thank you for inviting someone else to join.

Option 8 – Daily goal bonus:

By doing a certain amount of activity on Swagbucks, you can earn an extra bonus. Once you are logged in, you can see what the daily earnings target is for that day.

The Daily Goal Bonus can be a great way to earn some extra cash.

If you do this for several days in a row, you will receive a bonus based on the length of your streak. 7 days will give you 25 SB, 14 days 100 SB, 21 days 200 SB and 31 days 300 SB. So this can be a nice little extra bonus to go for if you use Swagbucks every day.

Option 9 – Daily to-do list bonus:

Not only can you get a daily bonus by earning the target bonus. Swagbucks also shows you a daily to-do list. If you complete it, you will receive an extra bonus for that day.

You can also earn a bonus by completing the daily to-do list.

There are 8 items on the list, as you can see in the picture above. If you complete 6 of them, you will receive a 4 SB bonus. If you complete all 8 items, you will receive an even bigger bonus.

Option 10 – Free points with Swagcodes:

Often codes or special offers are posted on the Swagbucks Facebook page or other social media channels.

You can regularly find Swag Codes that give you free points.

These codes will give you free SB, so it can be a good idea to keep an eye on social media channels for some free rewards.

The codes won’t give you huge rewards, but they only take a few seconds to complete, so it can still be worth it.

Option 11 – Get free SB on your birthday:

On your birthday you will receive 55 free SB via email. This amount will be refunded to you if you redeem a reward within 30 days of your birthday.

To receive this birthday gift, you will need to click on the link in the email and then make sure you redeem a reward within 30 days.

Option 12 – Free contests and swagstakes:

Swagbucks runs contests on a regular basis. Some of these are announced on their blog and others can be found after you log in to the site. Most are free to enter.

However, you can also find contests on Swagbucks that require you to use your SB to enter – these are called Swagstakes.

For example, there might be a $250 contest where you have to pay 2 cents to enter. There are also swagstakes for things like coffee machines, AirPods, PayPal cash and more.

So if you are lucky, these contests can be a chance to win some great rewards.

Option 13 – Get a great sign-up bonus:

Normally you do not get a cash sign up bonus on Swagbucks.

But because I have this site, I was able to get an invitation link that will give you a $5 sign up bonus by using the link below. You will receive the bonus once you have earned your first 2500 points.

Not only that, but you will also get an extra $10 into your Swagbucks account when you join through the link below if you decide to use the Swagbucks shopping portal. The first time you make a purchase through the Shopping Portal, you will receive the $10 credited to your account.

Note that the $5 sign up bonus is only available if you live in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Germany, France or Spain, as these are the countries where Swagbucks has the most opportunities. And the shopping bonus is usually only available in the UK and US.

In all other countries you can still get a Swagbucks sign-up bonus through my invitation link. However, the bonus will be $3 instead and you will get it after you have earned your first $3 – it just has to be within the first 30 points you earn after joining.

Swagbutton – Swagbucks Chrome extension

Another thing that Swagbucks offers is the Swagbutton, which is the Swagbucks Chrome extension. It can be very useful if you want to get some good savings when you shop online and get access to voucher codes that can save you a lot of money.

Once you have installed the Swagbutton, you will automatically receive an alert in your Chrome browser when a new coupon code and cash back offer is available on Swagbucks.

The Swagbutton makes it easy to earn extra money and make savings while you browse.

The Swagbutton also makes it easy to see if the site you are on has any coupons or deals.

When you make your first purchase and earn cash back through the Swagbutton, you will receive a $10 bonus. So if you like to shop online, installing this Chrome extension can definitely be a great way to make some savings.

Swagbucks membership levels

A fairly new feature of Swagbucks is its membership levels. You level up simply by being active on the platform.

You have to apply once you are logged in and you can apply once you have earned 250 SB or more. They call it their membership recognition programme and it is a way of rewarding you for being a long term active member.

There are 10 levels of membership, starting from Pearl to Diamond.

Each level entitles you to certain benefits, such as free points, more survey rewards, discounts on rewards and more. Once you reach the highest level, you can get some really great benefits.

For example, at this level you get a one-time bonus of $250 and double rewards for the next 3 surveys + some additional benefits, as you can see in the picture above.

To get to this level you need to earn a total of 2,000,000 SB, so it will take some time to get there.

However, the first few levels are quite easy to get to and with continued effort you can get to the highest level and it does not take any extra effort on top of just using Swagbucks, so I think it is a great extra reward for your loyalty.

Just be aware that this membership recognition programme is currently only available in the USA, Canada, UK and Australia, although Swagbucks itself is available in more countries (more on available countries later).

Can I use Swagbucks on my mobile phone?

Once you have registered with Swagbucks, you can download the Swagbucks app if you want to use the platform on the go.

It is available for Android, iPhone, iPod and iPad/tablets. It generally runs best on newer devices, but can usually be used if the device is less than 2-3 years old.

The Swagbucks app makes it easy to earn on the go.

Using a survey and GPT site that has an app makes it so much easier to earn because you can do it on the go. I often do this when I am waiting in line, waiting for a friend, or when I have a few minutes to spare, etc. So it is great to use sites that are available on your phone and have an app.

Using the Swagbucks app also has the advantage that you can see local offers and in some cases earn money when you eat or shop locally.

You just need to be aware that the full app is not available in all countries, so don’t worry if it’s not available in your country – you can just earn through the website instead.

In some countries there is only a limited version of the Swagbucks app available, which only gives you access to the surveys and not the other earning opportunities (called SB Answer).

How do you get paid?

You are paid in SB (Swag Bucks), which are essentially Swagbucks points, each time you complete an activity.

These SB can then be redeemed for Swagbucks Rewards – there is a wide variety of gift cards, cash via PayPal or sweepstakes to choose from.

You can get cash or choose from many different gift cards.

In general, 100 SB is worth $1. However, sometimes there are gift cards with discounts, so for example you only need to spend 1900 SB to get a gift card worth $25.

If you want to get paid via PayPal, the payout threshold can vary from country to country, but in general it is only around $5/$5/€5 depending on the country you live in, so it is a nice low threshold.

However, you can redeem your rewards for many other rewards earlier, and in some countries you can get gift cards as soon as you earn 100 SB.

Compared to many other survey sites, Swagbucks has a really good selection of free gift cards.

You can get free gift cards for Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Target, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, iTunes, hotels, airlines and many more. So it should be easy to find a way to redeem your rewards for something you like.

Swagstakes is another way to spend your points. For a small number of points, you can buy entries into various competitions, giving you the chance to win a bigger prize.

Some of these have a time limit, and others have a very limited number of entries, so keeping an eye on the competitions section can give you a good chance of winning some extra rewards.

How much money can you earn?

As with any survey or online rewards site, this is the big question. Unfortunately, it is also one that is impossible to answer with any certainty. It depends on so many things.

How much time you are willing to spend, how many of the opportunities you are interested in, where you live, and many other factors.

However, one general thing that can be said about survey sites and sites like Swagbucks is that they will not make you rich. So you should not join with that as your goal.

However, Swagbucks does offer some very good opportunities to make some nice extra cash or get some extra rewards, depending on your preferences.

Personally, I like the survey part of it, as I generally find surveys to be a great way to earn some extra cash and have my opinion heard. But Swagbucks also offers many other great ways to earn, and as you have seen earlier in this review, some of the methods can be a very easy way to earn, and it has great bonuses and offers that can really boost your earnings.

Swagbucks generally has good earning potential compared to many similar sites, and it is one of the biggest and most popular sites in the world because of the many opportunities it offers.
