Swagbucks is one of the largest and most popular survey and GPT (Get Paid To) sites. But being a big company is not always a sign of quality.
So is Swagbucks legit and really a great free way to make money online or a scam to steer clear of?
I have been using the platform myself for a number of years and I can tell you right off the bat that it is legit and I have been paid through it many times.
However, it is not necessarily a site for everyone, and in this 2024 Swagbucks review I will give you all the details about what the site has to offer, what you can expect, and what to look out for, so that you have all the information you need to decide whether or not it is the right site for you.
I will also show you how to get a great sign up bonus if you do decide to join.
What is Swagbucks and what does it offer?
Swagbucks is owned by Prodege, a provider of digital services, including rewards portals like Swagbucks.
It now has millions of registered users, making it one of the largest and most popular rewards sites out there. At the time of updating this Swagbucks review, it has paid out millions of dollars in cash and gift cards.
So let me make it clear right away that Swagbucks is legit and it does pay – I have been paid by it many times myself and will show you the Swagbucks payment proof later in this review.
It has a lot of opportunities and ways to earn, so let’s look at exactly what it offers so you can see if it’s for you or not, as it’s important to go in with the right expectations.
I will go through them below to give you a good overview. Just be aware that not all of them are available in all countries, but I will explain more about that later:
Option 1 – Swagbucks Paid Surveys:
Personally, I think paid surveys are a great way to earn some extra cash and have your opinion heard at the same time, and Swagbucks surveys are one of the best ways to earn on the platform in my experience.
There are usually many opportunities every day. Because Swagbucks has so many members, it is also a popular platform for companies that need to have surveys done, and this will lead to a good amount of survey opportunities.
Can my points expire?
Yes, your Swagbucks points can expire. If you have not logged into your account for 6 months and have not earned any points or redeemed any rewards, your account will become inactive. The points (SB) you earn will expire 2 years from the date you earn them.
I suppose most people would like to get their rewards sooner anyway, but if you like to accumulate as many points as possible before redeeming them, just be aware that they may expire if you wait too long.
Who can join Swagbucks?
Swagbucks used to be available in only a few countries. But it has now opened up and it is more or less possible to join from any country.
However, many countries will still have limited options.
So to get really good options, and to be sure that you have access to all the options explained earlier in this review, you need to live in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia or Germany.
In theory, you could also join from India, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the UAE, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, France and many other countries.
However, in these countries the number of options you can earn is still quite limited. So unless you live in one of the 6 countries where it was originally available (see above), you will get more options on other sites in your country.
It is also only in the original 8 countries that you will get the biggest Swagbucks bonus I mentioned above. However, you can join and get a sign-up bonus almost no matter what country you live in.
You can join Swagbucks from the age of 13, but this can vary from country to country. And if you are under 18, in some countries you will need a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
Some similar sites have a restriction that prevents more than one member of the same household (with the same IP address) from joining. This is not the case with Swagbucks.
As long as you create an individual account for each person, multiple members of the same household can join, which I think is great. Of course, you are not allowed to create multiple accounts for yourself using a fake name, as this is considered cheating and you will be banned if they find out (and they probably will).
Swagbucks complaints?
So far, Swagbucks looks like a pretty good way to make some extra cash, right?
But I decided to include other opinions about the site to give you a broader perspective, so I did some more research and got in touch with other members to hear about other people’s experiences.
In general, people are pretty positive about Swagbucks and it has been able to get so many members for a reason. With any survey site or GPT site there will always be some complaints. A common complaint about survey sites is that people can sometimes get frustrated about not qualifying for enough surveys, which I have heard about Swagbucks.
However, you should not expect to qualify for every survey on any paid survey site, and after a while you will find out which types of surveys you are most likely to qualify for and then focus on those.
But overall, Swagbucks is getting really good feedback and people are having a lot of good experiences with the site and most people are talking about Swagbucks in a very positive way. Thousands of my viewers on my YouTube channel and visitors here on my website have also told me about their great experiences.
Can you get support?
Being able to contact support is important for any GPT site or survey site. Hopefully you will never need it, but it is good to know that the option is there if you ever do.
I myself have been in contact with Swagbucks several times and have received very good service and support has been very quick to get back to me. So in my experience they offer excellent support.
You can either submit a support ticket on the website or message them on their Facebook page.
Final Verdict – Scam or Legit?
From the above review, it is clear that Swagbucks is not a scam.
It has been around for many years and has millions of members earning rewards and money every day, and I have been paid many times myself.
But let’s end this Swagbucks review with a summary of the pros and cons so you can get a better idea before you decide if it’s the right site for you:
Pros:
- Reliable and experienced company behind it
- Great sign-up bonus
- Pays through PayPal and has lots of other great prizes
- Many different opportunities
- Has a great app that makes it easy to earn on the go
- Chrome extension makes it easy to earn while surfing the web
Cons:
- Some countries have limited options
- Sometimes it takes patience to find the surveys you qualify for
As you can see, my overall impression of Swagbucks is very positive.
There are many ways to earn money and the Swagbucks rewards you can choose from are very good, whether you want cash or free gift cards.
Because there are so many options, it can take a little time to find your way around the platform at first, but it is not too difficult.
The downside is that it is quite limited in some countries, but they have recently opened up and you can join from more or less anywhere, which is great.
And especially if you live in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain or France, it is a great site to join and one that I would highly recommend joining.
It may also have decent opportunities in other countries, but just not as many, so you may want to check out the best survey sites in your country instead, as these sites will have better opportunities in other countries.
